The Sampson Southeastern Business Center is also home to Sampson Community College's 41-acre satellite campus. Current offerings include SCC's Truck Driving Program, which is ranked as one of the most successful truck driving training programs in North Carolina. SCC recently introduced a new Heavy Equipment Operator Program. This one semester training program prepares students with basic knowledge on heavy equipment identification, safety, basic field surveying and a variety of other topics needed in the construction field. Heavy equipment operators run heavy machinery, install underground piping, develop land for home and industrial construction, build roadways and bridges across the United States. Registered students are partnered with a local contractor to serve in a internship while participating in the program, which provides students with real-life work experience in the field while they learn from heavy equipment experts. In addition, students receive additional certifications related to erosion control, flagging and drone operation.
